Strawberries grow well in a variety of soil types, providing that the soil is well-drained. If there is no natural drainage, plant in raised beds that have been built the fall preceeding planting. The soil should be deep and rich in organic matter with a pH close to 6.5. Apply manure as needed, and use both green and chemical fertilizers to achieve the ideal fertilization. For commercial planting, take a soil sample and consult an agriculturalist.

Pépinière Massé offer a mid-season strawberry variety of moderate growth that, over the last ten years, has shown strong resistance to plant diseases. Its fruit is high in antioxidants and has elevated levels of phenolic compounds, which gives the fruit an excellent capacity for conservation. These characteristics also explain the absence of grey mold (Botrytis) and white mold (Oïdium) during test growth, making it an ideal candidate for ecological production.
Pépinière Massé fruit is visually attractive due to its bright red colouring, remarkable shine, firmness and harmonious taste. The berry is a great choice for display booths and farmer's markets. Its friut provides an excellent source of antioxidants that afford health benefits, and is an outstanding choice compared to other natual foods currently on the market.
Pépinière Massé strawberries have been submitted to numerous tastings, and the participants were impressed with its attractive qualities.
The fruit yields are moderate to high, depending upon the region. Its growth depends upon good fertilization with essential elements, and continually produces high quality fruits until harvest. During its testing period, the plants were discovered to be equally hardy in regions with light snow cover, such as Monteregie, or heavy snow cover, such as Quebec City.
